In the show this week we have a special featuring a number of interviews from this year’s EGX 2016 Gaming Event in Birmingham, plus an interview with actor Leroy Osei-Bonsu who plays the Genie in the children’s show Jamillah and Aladdin.
This week Geektown took a trip to EGX 2016, the UK’s biggest games event, to take a look at the latest games, and have a chat with a number of the developers. First up we chatted with the guys on the South Park: The Fractured But Whole stand about their upcoming release, and how the unique ‘Nosulus Rift’ adds an extra dimension to gaming… That being the ability to smell farts…
We also spoke to the developers of Forgotten Anne, part of Square Enix Collective. A beautiful hand drawn style 2D ‘point & click’ adventure, mixed with the action style of classic games like Prince Of Persia and Another World. This cinematic adventure is about the Forgotten Realm, where all mislaid items from the human world – old toys, letters, single socks – end up. With the help of the Forgotlings – creatures composed of these mislaid objects – Anne and Master Bonku, the only humans trapped in this realm, are on a quest to find their way home…
Next we talked to the developers of Black: The Fall, a dystopian puzzle game very much in the vein of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. Inspired by the communist past, you play as Black, an escapee from a repressive factory trying to outsmart the system.

The next game we tried was Black Death, an open world server based multiplayer survival game, where you have to work together with fellow players to survive.
And lastly on the show, we spoke to the developers of the cute and innovative Tethered. This is an upcoming release for Playstation VR, and is a unique and completely immersive strategy game that physically and emotionally tethers you to the world you’re striving to return balance to.
