W Set November UK Air Date For Code Black

by Dave Elliott

Medical drama Code Black is set to return to UK tv screens on Wednesday 2nd November 2016 at 9pm it was announced today.

Airing on W (the channel formerly know as Watch), the show follows the staff of Angels Memorial, as they battle to work in an overcrowded, understaffed and under-resourced ER dept.

However, season 2 sees them getting a new pair of helping hands in the form of Rob Lowe (The West Wing), as Col. Ethan Willis. As part of a elite medical program run by the Department of Defense, he’s been embedded to help bring cutting edge and innovative medical care from actual war zones, to an ER dept which regularly seems like a battlefield. He’s described as a roguish-but-charming (hey, it is Rob Lowe!) rule breaker who puts the patient first, takes risks, and doesn’t suffer fools. Whilst Residency Director Dr Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) may welcome Willis’s style, some of the other doctors are not so keen…

Other changes this season sees Boris Kodjoe (The Last Man on Earth, Undercovers) upped to series regular, as Dr. Will Campbell takes over as director of the ER and OR in an effort to save costs. A decision that only seems to rub the other staff up the wrong way, making things more challenging for everyone.

Code Black returns Wednesday 2nd November 2016 at 9pm on W.
