E4 Set October UK Air Date For Big Bang Theory Season 10

The Big Bang Theory is returning for their 10th season on Wednesday 19th October at 8:30pm on E4 it has been announced today.

Picking up straight after the end of season 9 which saw Sheldon’s mother (Laurie Metcalf) and Leonard’s father (Judd Hirsch) share an evening together, ‘The Conjugal Conjecture’ deals with the rather awkward morning after. We also get to meet the rest of Penny’s family as they arrive for new wedding ceremony. Penny’s anxiety-ridden mother, Susan, is brilliant played by Kaley Cuoco’s ‘8 Simple Rules’ mother, Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy). We’re also introduced to her drug-dealing brother, Randall, played by 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer.

There have been a number of rumours that this maybe a final outing for the Big Bang team as the cast’s contracts are up for renewal. However the latest reports say that they are interested in making more, but it’s an expensive proposition for Warner Bros who make the show. Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki are already said to be on $1 million per episode, with Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar at slightly less, on $900,000 each. If they renew the contracts, you would expect that number to go up… That’s a lot of money to fork out.

Whatever happens, The Big Bang Theory is back on E4 with Season 10, Wednesday 19th October at 8:30pm.
