Jodie Foster To Direct An Episode Of Black Mirror Season 4

Jodie Foster will be directing an upcoming episode of Black Mirror it has been announced.

News arrived last year that Charlie Brooker’s twisted dark anthology series would be moving from Channel 4 to Netflix, and with it gained a 12 episode order. That has been split into 2 seasons of 6 episodes, with season 3 arriving 21st October 2016, and season 4 airing in 2017.

Although there has been no hint of the content of Foster’s episode, it was announced it will star Rosemarie DeWitt (United States of Tara, Mad Men) as the lead. Foster has been working more behind the camera than in front of it in recent years, and directed 2 episodes of Orange Is The New Black, and an episode of House Of Cards last season for Netflix.

Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us.

The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.

Black Mirror Season 3 lands on Netflix UK tomorrow, 21st October 2016.
