After the terror, heartbreak and gore of The Walking Dead’s premiere, episode 2 brings use some new characters… And a tiger…
The official synopsis for the episode reads “For a number of familiar faces, a new, well-established community seems too good to be true.” That new place being The Kingdom, ruled over by King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and his pet tiger Shiva. This is where Carol (Melissa McBride) and Morgan (Lennie James) find themselves following the events at the end of season 6.
In the comic books, Ezekiel is a friend to The Hilltop & Jesus, and also has a strong hatred for Negan and the Saviors. He’s described as outwardly confident, charismatic and affable, but also eccentric & flamboyant… He does have a pet tiger, so I think that’s fair!
Could this be the ally Rick and the Alexandrians need to defeat Negan? Only time will tell…
