Geektown Radio 97: Line Producer Shea Kammer, UK TV News & UK TV Air Date Info!
We return for our second episode of Geektown Radio in 2017 with lots of tv news, air date info, and another great interview for you! This week, we chat with Line Producer Shea Kammer, who has not one, but three films coming to the Sundance Film Festival this week!
The first of the three is The Yellow Birds, starring Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!, Young Han Solo) and Tye Sheridan (X-Men, Ready Player One), about two young soldiers, navigating the terrors of the Iraq war under the command of the older, troubled Sergeant Sterling (Jack Huston – Boardwalk Empire, American Hustle). Also stars Jennifer Aniston, Toni Collette and Jason Patric.
The second is To the Bone, which is the feature directorial debut of the brilliant Marti Noxon (Buffy, Angel, UnREAL, Mad Men, Glee… and many more!) This follows the story of a young woman (Lily Collins – Mirror Mirror, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) dealing with anorexia, who meets an unconventional doctor (Keanu Reeves) who challenges her to face her condition and embrace life.
The third film is Newness, set in contemporary Los Angeles, about two millennials (Nicholas Hoult & Laia Costa) navigating a social media-driven hookup culture, who begin a relationship that pushes both emotional and physical boundaries.
Shea’s other credits include Oscar-Nominated films like American Hustle, Kevin Smith’s Red State, Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West and both Ted movies. If you want to know what a ‘line producer’ does, you’ll just have to listen to the show!
