There was talk… There were rumours… But it’s confirmed. After 11 years, Will & Grace are back for a brand new series!

Inspired after the positive reaction to the 10 minute mini episode they put together for the US election, NBC has commisioned a 10 episode limited series, set to air at some point in the 2017/18 season.

For those of you too young to remember the original series, Will & Grace is a US sitcom about the relationship between gay lawyer Will, and his straight best friend and interior designer, Grace.

The show will see Eric McCormack return as Will, alongside Debra Messing as Grace. Of course, the show wouldn’t be the same without Karen (Megan Mullally) and Jack (Sean Hayes) also reprising their roles.

The new show will bring back together the original creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. “We started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September,” commented NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke. “The fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons. Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and Will and Grace is one of the best.”

Director James Burrows, who astonishingly for a long running US sitcom, directed every episode of the first 8 seasons, is also returning.

For those of you missing Eric McCormack, I urge you to go and watch his brilliant current series Travelers on Netflix, from Stargate co-creator Brad Wright.

Obviously, with Will & Grace only just being announced there’s no news on a UK air date yet, but we will keep you informed!
