The 100 Gets A 5th Season!
The CW has given another one of it’s shows an early renewal. This time the recipient is The 100, which has been granted a 5th Season.
The sci-fi drama, which is current around halfway through it’s 4th season in the US, and due to land here in April on E4, will see Clarke and the gang deal with the aftermath of the battle with ALIE the A.I.
If you remember, when we left the group, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) had taken a black Nightblood transfusion from a dying Ontari (Rhiannon Fish) to allow her to be implanted with the ‘Flame’. She then took the chip into the City Of Light, and with the help of Lexa’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey) spirit and Raven’s (Lindsey Morgan) hacking manages to destroy ALIE. But ALIE has one last warning that number of abandoned nuclear power plants around the world that are melting down and releasing radiation, which will make Earth uninhabitable within 6 months. Was she lying, or are they in for a very toxic, and deadly future?… And if they are, will all the factions manage to put their differences aside, and come together to find a solution.
When The 100 does return for season 5, creator Jason Rothenberg maybe sharing showrunner duties with someone else, if his new pilot Searchers also goes to series. The new show follows a brother and sister who, 10yrs after the death of their mother, discover the terrifying and crazy stories she told them as children might actually be a roadmap to discovering the great legends, myths and unexplainable mysteries of the world.
The 100 joins all the DC shows, Riverdale, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jane the Virgin & Supernatural which have already been renewed on the CW. iZombie and The Originals have yet to air, so their fate won’t be known for a few months yet. The only two shows looking decidedly unlikely to be coming back are Frequency and No Tomorrow, neither of which got a back order for their freshman seasons.
The 100 Season 4 is currently scheduled to land on E4 in April 2017.
