‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Gets Season 4 Renewal
‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘ is living up to its name, as Netflix hands out a Season 4 renewal to the comedy series.
The series stars Ellie Kemper (The LEGO Batman Movie, The Office) as Kimmy, a 29-year-old woman who is adjusting to life in New York City after spending 15 years in a doomsday cult. The relentlessly upbeat girl is determined to not become a victim, as she reclaims her life and starts over in the Big Apple.
With most shows, this would be the point where we say how well it’s been doing for the network, and how the renewal wasn’t a surprise… or how it was a surprise given its ratings… But this is Netflix… and they don’t release any data on how well or badly a show is doing, so in some ways, every renewal is a surprise!
The one thing we can judge it on is awards and the show has been nominated for 11 Emmys so far, including 2 for ‘Outstanding Comedy Series’. It’s also been getting a lot of positive praise from professional critics and fans alike.
The series was created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, and also stars Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane.
