5USA Sets July UK Air Date For ‘Chicago PD’

by Dave Elliott

It’s been a long and torturous wait for Chicago PD fans, but 5USA have finally revealed the UK air date for Season 4 – Thursday 6th July 2017 at 9pm.

For those needing a bit of a recap, last season climaxed with Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) forcing the killer of his son to dig his own grave before Lindsay (Sophia Bush) interrupted the scene, imploring Voight not to kill the killer. This season begins without revealing whether Voight spared the killer or not…

Lindsay is questioned by Commander Crowley (Barbara Eve Harris), who has discovered that she and Voight were in the same location on the night of the killer’s ‘disappearance’. She does not reveal any information, but later Voight can tell that she has been spooked. When Crowley calls for a search of the scrub land in question, no body is found.

Meanwhile, Burgess’s (Marina Squerciati) new partner is Julie Tay (Li Jun Li – Quantico, Blindspot), whose previous role had been the ‘worst job possible’ – working the courthouse beat. Burgess is sceptical about Tay’s capabilities at first, but she has to put those concerns to one side as they investigate the killing of a man who was found wearing a police wire.

Chicago PD returns for Season 4 with a UK premiere on Thursday, 6th July 2017 at 9pm.

This news article seems to be partly about a recap of the season 3 finale, but then goes into the start of Season 4, which I would have thought was not a recap.

about bloody time. It’s a nightmare trying to follow the shows in the “Chicago” Universe in the UK. The various series all start out of sync and on different channels. It’s especially frustrating as the characters drop in and out of the other shows and so any major character developments can be ruined if viewed out of order. Crossover stories have to be viewed in the order they are produced, for obvious reasons and as it’s also set in the same Universe as Law & Order SVU , there are the occassional crossover stories with that show as well. It’s about time the programme planners understood this is scheduled the shows correctly.

In an ideal world, Sky Living and 5USA’s rights to show the most recent seasons of Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. respectively would expire, and Universal Channel would show them, as they would be more closer to the US airdates.

It’s not on the 4th now. It’s been moved back a week.

Thanks for posting that reply Dave. Much more helpful than the other comment. My first comment, answering the question posted on June 17th was based on what was stated on the UK TV Airdates page at the time.
