Think it’s fair to say, this is probably one of the oddest screening I’ve heard about in recent years…
Yesterday, Amazon Prime Video hosted its most unusual screening ever as it played the entire first season of new hit show ‘AMERICAN GODS‘… to the Gods! The dusk-to-dawn, 8-hour rooftop screening held at Tobacco Docks, London, played the show straight up into the Heavens to mark the release of every episode on Amazon Prime Video.
The TV series from the Neil Gaiman-book of the same name follows Ian McShane as Mr Wednesday, the leader of Old Gods, and Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Wednesday’s bodyguard, as they travel across America in a battle against the New Gods including Gillian Anderson as the God of Media.
Whilst this is obviously an entertaining publicity stunt, you have to feel for the actors in the series, as this is playing with fire… I mean, if poor Ian McShane is struck down with a thunderbolt in the next few days, you can tell a certain god wasn’t happy with his portrayal. ;)

Not only can you get the entire 1st season of ‘American Gods’, but also the brilliant ‘Preacher‘ has just returned for its 2nd season. On top of that, you have amazing dramas like ‘Man In The High Castle’, ‘Outlander’, ‘Sneaky Pete’, ‘Black Sails’, and the critically acclaimed ‘Transparent’. As normal broadcast TV tends to slow down a bit in the Summer, it’s a perfect time to sign up!
