How To Survive A Marathon Gaming Session

We all know that playing video games is so much more than mere entertainment. Over the years many of us have spent countless hours locked in a one-on-one battle with a gaming challenge that seems to be more important than life itself.

And regardless of whether we’re playing GoldenEye in 1997, World of Warcraft in 2007, or The Legend of Zelda in 2017, we’re going to have to endure a pretty epic gaming session to prove that artificial intelligence hasn’t completely beaten humanity just yet!

So what are the key ingredients that provide top gamers with the tech, food and stamina necessary to overthrow our digital overlords?

The first thing to ensure is that your gaming tech is up to speed. Online gaming sessions will require an uninterrupted internet connection, so get off the Wi-Fi and get yourself a decent CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable so that your latency doesn’t suffer in the middle of a rigorous Overwatch competition.

Similarly, PC gamers should make sure that their set-up is able to handle plenty of taxing gaming sessions. Dedicated gaming hardware brands like Razer have created many awesome pieces of kit that should be able to withstand even the most frantic Doom battle.

Once you’ve got your hardware in place, you’ll need to make sure that you’re physically sorted for a decent ten-hour gaming session. Whilst it might sound a little extreme, some of these hand exercises for gamers can help stave off nasty ailments like repetitive strain injury, and don’t forget to give yourself a good break from the action every now and then.

And whilst gaming might not seem like the most physically taxing activity, it’s best not to try and survive on mere junk food. Something like a decent takeaway meal from Deliveroo can do a good job in topping up your energy levels, without distracting you from that CS:GO session by making you spend too much time in the kitchen.

It’s also worth mentioning that there are plenty of gamers out there who seem to survive on a steady diet of energy drinks. However, there are many health professionals who have noted that this so-called gaming fuel might not be as healthy as it pretends to be.

So that’s why it’s best to keep it simple by making sure that your gaming rig is up to speed, and that your body is operating at its best thanks to some nutritious restaurant-quality food!
