The brilliantly bitchy ‘UnREAL‘ has picked up a 4th Season before Season 3 has even hit tv screens, US network Lifetime has announced.
Those of you who listen to Geektown Radio (you should, it’s really good), will know what a huge fan I am of this series. It’s a comedy-drama set behind the scenes of one of those US ‘The Bachelor’ style dating shows, which I’ve frequently described as being a bunch of manipulative egomaniacs being manipulated by a bigger bunch of manipulative egomaniacs.
Co-created by Marti Noxon and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, the critically acclaimed ‘UnREAL’ follows the chaos behind the scenes of the fictional dating competition, ‘Everlasting’. Based on Shapiro’s experiences working as a field producer on ‘The Bachelor’, it shows the crazy lengths the production staff will go to in order to stir up the drama between the contestants.
When the show returns for it’s 3rd season it will feature it’s first feminist ‘suitress’, played by Caitlin FitzGerald (‘Masters of Sex’, ‘Rectify’) who will get her pick of a group of male suitors vying to win her affection.
For those of you yet to catch ‘UnREAL‘, the first 2 seasons can be found on Amazon Prime Video, with the 3rd Season coming in Early 2018.
