‘Dark Matter’ Cancelled After 3 Seasons
Sad news ‘Dark Matter‘ fans… The show has cancelled after 3 seasons creator Joseph Mallozzi has announced.
The show followed the crew of a derelict spaceship, who awaken from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, and the realisation that they were wanted criminals pre-amnesia, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets.
“To say that I’m incredibly disappointed would be an understatement,” Mallozzi comments in a post on his blog. “I’ll save my comments and field your questions in a future blog entry. For today, I just want to extend a heartfelt thanks to my amazing crew, my wonderful cast, and to all of you, our incredible fans. You all deserved better.”
I’m incredibly sad to see ‘Dark Matter’ leave our screen, particularly without getting to end on its own terms. Not just because it was a great show and one of the few, genuine, space-faring shows on SYFY. But also because we had the chance to interview Joseph Mallozzi before the start of season 3, and he’s such a nice guy, so I’m really gutted for him. Such is the nature of tv, unfortunately.
‘Dark Matter’s‘ 3rd (and now final) season has just concluded airing on SYFY UK.

Need a 4th season dark matter please
TV companies should know people will get fed up with all these tv series that cancelled without a proper finish! Blind Spot, The Following, Terra Nova, Revolution and now Dark Matter they are the ones I have watched. Should do a 2hr special and tie the series together to give some sort of finish.
Blindspot was actually renewed, but I take your point! :) I do think it’s sad they didn’t at least give it a movie or shorter final season to finish it.

You can also go here and request Netflix pick it up :)

I’d have preferred Killjoys being cancelled over Dark Matter. It’s Star Gate Universe all over again.
SyFy has a history of making rubbish decisions on good shows, remember Farscape?
Nooooooo!!!
