Killjoys Renewed For 2 Final Seasons

Canadian network Space and SYFY have picked up Killjoys for 2 final seasons before it will end its run the network has announced this evening.

‘Killjoys’ follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war.

“A final two-season order is a huge vote of confidence for a show that keeps getting better and better,” comment executive producers David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg. “We are so proud of the support Killjoys has received from critics and fans alike, and are thrilled to plan a deserving ending for Dutch and the Jaqobis brothers; it has been an incredible intergalactic journey and we could not have wished for better partners to share the ride.”

The show stars Hannah John-Kamen (‘The Tunnel’, ‘Happy Valley’, ‘Black Mirror’) as Dutch, a level five RAC agent, and leader of the group; Aaron Ashmore (‘Warehouse 13’, ‘Smallville’, and the one that isn’t Shawn Ashmore), stars as Johnny, a fellow RAC agent, tech genius, and Dutch’s RAC partner; And Luke Macfarlane (‘The Night Shift’, ‘Brothers & Sisters’) plays D’avin, brother of Johnny and former soldier who joins the duo as a RAC bounty hunter.

This is better news for sci-fi fans, who heard earlier this evening that one of SYFY’s other space-faring shows, ‘Dark Matter’, had been cancelled after 3 seasons.

Killjoys‘ airs the 3rd Season finale next week on SYFY UK.

Not a bad show. Wish they’d get back to the more “bad guy of the week”-style of S1 though. My point is that I think they have moved too far away from the show’s original premise. Change is good, but you shouldn’t really completely change the premise of a show.

Ah, okay. I’m a bit behind, and I thought it had aired already. I’ll alter it. :)
