Modern Family Season 9 Gets UK Air Date In October

Smash hit comedy Modern Family returns for its 9th season on Sky 1 from 6th October 2017 at 8:30pm it has been announced.

The season premiere sees Jay (Ed O’Neill) forcing the family to take their vacation together on a houseboat at a lake in an effort to create memories that will last long after he’s gone. Meanwhile, Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) runs into an old flame that opens some old wounds, and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) has to stay out of the sun at all costs. Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) decide to try out some adventurous excursions, whilst the kids’ quest for a good time may not be as fun as they expected…

The hugely popular show, which follows the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan and their large and blended ‘modern family’ has already been renewed for 10th Season, but that could be the last according to co-creator Steve Levitan. “Our original goal was to just stay on the air,” he commented to Deadline recently. “After a while though, we felt we may be in control our own fate, and 10 sounded like a nice round number.”

Levitan goes on to say there has been some discussion with co-writer Christopher Lloyd about where they would like things to end up. “We haven’t had that exact conversation yet how we want to end the show episode-wise,” he says, but continues “We’ve talked about areas that we want to go and tonally what we want to do.”

Modern Family‘ Season 9 comes to Sky 1 from 6th October 2017 at 8:30pm.
