Production To Restart On ‘House of Cards’ 6th & Final Season With Robin Wright In Lead Role

House Of Cards 6th and final Season is back on fans will be happy to hear. Robin Wright will take the lead as the newly installed POTUS, Claire Underwood, which follows nicely on from the dramatic ending to Season 5.

The halt in production was brought about following revelations of sexual assault by Kevin Spacey. These initially came from ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ actor Anthony Rapp who alleged Spacey made sexual advances towards him whilst drunk at a party when Spacey was 26 and Rapp was 14 years old. There have since been a number of other people come forward with similar stories.

Netflix issued a statement saying they “not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey,” but would “continue to work with producers during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show .” Thankfully they have found that path.

There is no news on how they with extract Frank from the current plotline, although an off-screen death would appear most likely.

The 8 episode final season will “bring closure of the show for fans,” according to Netflix president Ted Sarandos.

House Of Cards‘ airs on Netflix UK.
