Robbie Amell Joins Amazon Sci-Fi Comedy Pilot ‘Upload’

Arrowverse’s original Firestorm is trading his superhero outfit for Amazon’s high-concept sci-fi comedy pilot ‘Upload’ it has been announced today.

The show is set in a future where humans are able to “upload” themselves into their preferred choice of the afterlife. When Nathan (Amell) meets his early death, he is greeted by Nora in his version of heaven. The series follows the two as Nathan grows accustomed to life away from his loved ones, and the alive Nora struggles to stay afloat working her job alongside Nathan in the afterlife. The show comes from ‘The Office’ (US version) creator Greg Daniels.

Along with play Ronnie Raymond (the original other half of Firestorm before Jax, and also Deathstorm) on ‘The Flash’, he also starred in short-lived series ‘The Tomorrow People’ and popped up in ‘The X-Files’ revival. He is, as many Arrowverse fans will know, the cousin of ‘Arrow’ star Stephen Amell, with whom he’s developing and producing the sci-fi/action movie ‘Code 8’ which will star the duo.

‘Upload’ is currently set as a pilot at Amazon, but it’s not clear if this will get released to the public for voting, as they have done with shows before. The company has said they are winding down that system due to it causing logistical issues when it comes to making the pilots into a full series. We’ll bring you more news as we get it.
