FX Orders ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Spinoff ‘Mayans MC’ To Series

Get ready to return to Kurt Sutter’s world of biker gang drama! FX has picked up ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Spinoff Mayans MC to series it has been announced today.

Co-created by Sutter and ex-biker-turned-filmmaker Elgin James, the show continues the SoA saga in a post-Jax Teller world. EZ Reyes (JD Pardo – ‘Revolution’, ‘East Los High’) is fresh out of prison and a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Californian/Mexican border. EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his grasp.

Joining Pardo in the cast is Edward James Olmos (‘Battlestar Galactica’, ‘Dexter’), who plays Felipe Reyes, father of EZ. He is the once strong Mexican patriarch, crushed by bullets and hard labour, who struggles to keep his past buried and lead his sons down a lawful, righteous path.

Other cast includes Sarah Bolger (‘Into the Badlands’, ‘Once Upon a Time’), Clayton Cardenas (‘American Crime’), Richard Cabral (‘Lethal Weapon’, ‘American Crime’), Michael Irby (‘SEAL Team’, ‘True Detective’, ‘Taken’), Raoul Trujillo (‘Jamestown’, ‘The Blacklist’), Antonio Jaramillo (‘Shades of Blue’, ‘Dallas’) and Carla Baratta.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ was the highest-rated ongoing drama series in FX history, and if you’ve never seen it, I urge you to go and catch up with it on Netflix UK right now. The order for the Mayans MC spinoff is for 10 episodes and will land on US network FX in 2018. No news on where the show might land in the UK, but you have to think Netflix might be interested in giving it a home. We’ll let you know more as we have it.
