As If ‘Billions’ Wasn’t Great Enough Already, They’ve Now Added John Malkovich!

Season 3 of the excellent Billions has another heavyweight actor joining the cast when it returns for its 3rd Season – John Malkovich!

Malkovich is set to take a guest role as Russian billionaire Grigor Andolov in the series, which comes back to the US in March (and usually follows closely behind on Sky Atlantic in the UK.) The part reunites him with the show’s co-creators David Levien and Brian Koppelman, who previously worked with him on the film ‘Rounders’… where he also played a Russian mobster!

“John appeared in our first two films, ‘Rounders’ and ‘Knockaround Guys,’ and we have a long creative history together,” commented Koppelman and Levien. “We are ecstatic to be reunited with the man who played Teddy KGB once again.”

‘Billions’ stars Damian Lewis as shady hedge fund manager Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod, and Paul Giamatti as District U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades, who’s not afraid to pull his own underhand tricks to capture Axe in some nefarious deal.

Season 1 saw Axe Capital nearly destroyed by Rhoades’ attacks, and Season 2 saw Axe go on the attack, using his considerable resources to exact revenge on the Machiavellian U.S. Attorney. As we head into Season 3, Chuck and Bobby find themselves in a world that has shifted on its axis. Both men are still determined to destroy the other, but must also battle for their own survival amid new forces and powerful enemies. Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff) Chuck’s wife and Axe’s performance coach, is all in for both of them, an uneasy and dangerous position for her, and one that ultimately puts her to a decision that could alter the direction of her life irrevocably.

We don’t have a UK premiere date yet for Billions‘ Season 3, but it returns to Showtime in the US on March 25th, so we’d expect to see it not long after that on Sky Atlantic.
