Marvel Drops The Second ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Trailer!

by Dave Elliott

Marvel has just released the second trailer for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and things don’t seem to be going well for our heroes… Although Spider-man has a snazzy new suit, so that’s nice!

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their superhero allies must willing to sacrifice it all in an attempt to defeat the power of Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

In the trailer we see Iron Man, Spider-man, Thor (that dude is going to have a headache…), Hulk, Black Widow, Black Panther, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Steve Rogers (formally Captain America), War Machine, Doctor Strange, Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Falcon… plus, I suspect, a number of others who can’t be seen in the trailer.

Marvel has been building the arrival of Thanos ever since he first appeared in ‘The Avengers’ mid-credits scene. As we know, he’s after the Infinity Gems/Stones to place in the Infinity Gauntlet. Not because he like snazzy jewellery, but because each Gem grants its bearer complete mastery over one aspect of the multiverse: Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Reality, and Power.

We know most of the stones are in the possesion of various MCU chatacters. As we saw in the last trailer, Loki appeared to have The Tesseract (aka the ‘Space Stone’)… However in this trailer, we clearly see the blue stone being placed in the Infinity Gauntlet… That does not bode well for Loki…

As for the other stones, the Reality Stone (aka Aether) was left with the Collector in ‘Thor: The Dark World’, and the Power Stone was taken by the Guardians of the Galaxy from Ronan and given to the Nova Corps for safe keeping… Although that doesn’t seem to have worked, as we also see that stone in the gauntlet too… The Time Stone sits in the Eye of Agamotto pendant which, as we see in the trailer, is currently in the possesion of Doctor Strange. Thanos getting the Mind Stone would be a literal headache for Vision, as it’s currently part of him and is embedded in his forehead. The only gem we haven’t seen yet is the Soul Stone.

Whatever happens, we can be pretty sure the MCU is going to be changed forever after this film.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is released in UK cinemas on the 26th April 2018.
