As tends to happen with The CW, they’ve given a massive “thumbs up” to most of its line-up, giving early renewals to 10 of its shows, although there were a few exceptions…
All the DC shows will be returning. That includes ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’, ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, ‘Supergirl’, and newcomer ‘Black Lightning’. Greg Berlanti’s other non-DC comic book drama ‘Riverdale’ has also been picked up. ‘Supernatural’ will return for a monumental 14th Season, the comedies ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ and ‘Jane the Virgin’ will both be back too, and lastly, ‘Dynasty’ will return once again.
“By picking these 10 series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come,” commented CW president Mark Pedowitz. “I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”
Notably missing from the list as freshman series ‘Valor’, which is almost definitely going to be officially cancelled, fellow freshman series ‘Life Sentence’, which looks to be on decidedly shaky ground, and ‘iZombie’, which is said to be “on the bubble”. The other CW show not mentioned is ‘The 100’, which is due to return to the US soon as a mid-season show, so wasn’t expected to get a renewal announcement yet.
‘Legends Of Tomorrow’, ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, and ‘Supergirl’ all air on Sky One in the UK. ‘Black Lightning’, ‘Riverdale’, ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’, ‘Jane the Virgin’ and ‘iZombie’ can all be found on Netflix UK.
