There seems to be a trend today for renewing your shows for a 2nd season before the 1st has even aired. BBC America has picked up up their new drama Killing Eve For Season 2 before it premieres in the US later this week, and arrives in the UK on BBC One & Three later in 2018.

The eight-part series comes from multi-award winning writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge (‘Fleabag’), and follows Eve (Sandra Oh – ‘Grey’s Anatomy’), a bored MI5 security officer whose desk job does not fulfil her fantasies of being a spy. Jodie Comer (‘Doctor Foster’) stars as Villanelle, a fearsome assassin clinging to the luxuries her violent job affords her. When Eve is tasked with tracking down Villanelle before she can strike again, the two women are thrown into a cat-and-mouse game that turns the traditional spy-thriller on its head.

The duo are joined by Fiona Shaw (‘Harry Potter’) as Carolyn Martens, David Haig (‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’) as Eve’s colleague Bill, and Kim Bodnia (‘The Bridge’) as Konstantin. Further casting includes Darren Boyd (‘Fortitude’) as Frank Haleton, Sean Delaney (‘Midsomer Murders’) as Kenny Stowton, Kirby Howell-Baptiste (‘Downward Dog’) as Elena Felton, and Owen McDonnell (‘Paula’) as Niko.

“Killing Eve is a startlingly original thriller,” commented Sue Deeks, BBC Head of Programme Acquisition. “In turn, both laugh-out-loud funny and edge-of-your-seat gripping, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has filled her new series with an array of wonderful characters brought to life by a dream cast.”

Killing Eve comes to our US cousins on Sunday, April 8th, 2018 at 8pm on BBC America. The show will air on BBC One and come to BBC Three as a box set later this year.
