Wrestling comedy GLOW will return for a 10-episode 2nd Season in June 2018 the streaming service has announced.

Inspired by the real story of the 1980’s female wrestling league, the series, set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams, tells the fictionalized story of an out of work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.

Season 2 follows the women of ‘GLOW’ as they become local celebrities, confronting the good, the bad, and the ugly realities of their newfound fame. As Ruth and Debbie settle into the day-to-day of making a season of TV together, they confront lingering issues at the heart of their friendship. Sam is still Sam, but now he has a teenage daughter living with him and twenty episodes to churn out. The wrestling is harder, the stakes are higher, and the hair is even bigger.

‘GLOW’ stars Alison Brie (‘Community’, ‘Mad Men’), Betty Gilpin (‘Nurse Jackie’, ‘Fringe’), Sydelle Noel (‘Arrow’, ‘Black Panther’), Britney Young (‘Those Who Can’t’) and Marc Maron (‘The Life & Times of Tim’, ‘Metalocalypse’), and is written by Liz Flahive (‘Homeland’) and Carly Mensch (‘Orange is the New Black’), who also serve as showrunners. Jenji Kohan & Tara Herrmann (‘Orange is the New Black’) are executive producers.

GLOW‘ Season 2 comes to Netflix UK on Friday, 29th June 2018.
