In news that I doubt comes as a shock to anyone, HBO has picked up their smash hit, Emmy-winning, sci-fi series ‘Westworld‘ for Season 3.
Set in a futuristic theme park staffed by artificial beings, guests of ‘Westworld’ can live out their wildest fantasies. However, when the robots begin to run amok, the guests find themselves in a place where anything can happen.
In the 2nd Season, we join a park in full revolt as the hosts start to fight back. Now that the gloves are off, The Man In Black (Ed Harris) has, finally, got the “game” he always wanted, whilst Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), along with Teddy (James Marsden), seem to be trying to raise an army as they head towards their mysterious goal. Meanwhile, Maeve (Thandie Newton) has enlisted the help of gang leader host Hector Escaton (Rodrigo Santoro) and Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman), the park’s narrative director, as she heads off to find her daughter. Over in a slightly different timeline, Bernard awakes on a beach to be “greeted” by armed men from Delos head office led by Karl Strand (Gustaf Skarsgård) who have come to the park to clean up the whole mess.
“It’s been an extraordinary pleasure to work with the exceptionally talented Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, as well as their gifted cast and crew,” commented Casey Bloys, President HBO Programming. “From the inspired storytelling to the incredible visuals, we are so excited to see where the next chapter will take us.”
‘Westworld‘ Season 2 is currently airing on Sky Atlantic and Now TV in the UK, with new episodes being simulcast at 2am with the US on Monday mornings followed by a 9pm showing in the evening.
