Freeform Picks Up ‘Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists’ To Series & Drops A Trailer!

by Dave Elliott

Some good news for PLL fans. US network Freeform has given a 10-episode order to spin-off series Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists it was announced last night. They’ve also dropped a little trailer for the new show which you can see here.

Set in the town of Beacon Heights, where everything seems perfect, from its top-tier college to its overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi…

The show comes from PLL showrunner I. Marlene King and will star Sasha Pieterse as Alison DiLaurentis and Janel Parrish as Mona Vanderwaal, both reprising their roles from the main show. The other cast includes Sofia Carson (‘Descendants’ films), Sydney Park (‘The Walking Dead’), Kelly Rutherford (‘Gossip Girl’), Hayley Erin (‘General Hospital’), Graeme Thomas King and Eli Brown.

The series is actually based on The Perfectionist, an unrelated novel from ‘Pretty Little Liars’ author Sara Shepard. The show was originally conceived as its own, stand-alone series. However, when PLL wrapped, the idea rose to smush the two previously unrelated worlds together.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists will debut in 2019 on Freeform in the US. No news on a UK pick up yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
