First Trailer Arrives Showing Rami Malek As Freddie Mercury In ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

by Dave Elliott

The first full trailer for the long-anticipated ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ movie has arrived, as we get the first proper look at ‘Mr Robot’s’ Rami Malek playing the one and only Freddie Mercury.

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is described as “a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet.”

The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

Malek stars as Freddie with Gwilym Lee (‘Jamestown’) as Brian May, Joseph Mazzello (‘The Pacific’) as John Deacon, and Ben Hardy (‘EastEnders’, ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’) as Roger Taylor. Other cast includes Aiden Gillen (‘Game Of Thrones’), Tom Hollander (‘The Night Manager’), and Mike Myers (‘Austin Powers’).

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is released on in the UK on 24th October 2018, 1st November 2018 in Australia and 2nd November 2018 in the US.
