The Upcoming Seasons Of ‘iZombie’, ‘Jane The Virgin’, & ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ Will Be Their Last
I don’t think this news comes as a massive shock, but The CW has confirmed the upcoming seasons of ‘iZombie‘, ‘Jane The Virgin‘, & ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘ will be their last.
We had already been told that the 4th Season of ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ would be the swansong for the show. Series star and show creator, Rachel Bloom, tweeted a photo saying “Just turned on my wifi on our flight to Chicago and found out that #CrazyExGirlfriend has been renewed for a final season,” back in April. Similarly, Gina Rodriguez, star of ‘Jane The Virgin’, had commented previously about their 5th Season renewal being its final season.
Whilst there were no premonitions from the cast of ‘iZombie’, the show was very much “on the bubble” for renewal this year, so the fact they are making the 5th Season its final outing shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. It does mean, however, that all three shows will get proper conclusions and won’t be left up in the air like some series we saw cancelled last week.
‘iZombie’ tells the story of Liv Moore. A rosy-cheeked, disciplined, over-achieving medical resident, who had her life path completely mapped out… until the night she attended a party that unexpectedly became a zombie feeding frenzy, turning her into one of the undead in the process.
‘Jane The Virgin’ follows the story of Jane Villanueva, the daughter of a teen mother, who grew up determined not to repeat her mum’s mistakes. Inseminated by a specimen meant for a patient in the next room, Jane is in a situation made only more insane when she learns that the sperm donor is her boss, Rafael.
‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ stars Rachel Bloom as Rebecca Bunch, an upwardly mobile Yale and Harvard educated lawyer, whose career is really going places… That is until she bumps into old flame Josh, her first love who she never really got over. Realising her life isn’t how she really wants it to be, she chucks in her job, and decides to follow Josh back to West Covina, California in the hope that she just may bump into him again!
All three shows air on Netflix in the UK.
