‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 4 News: More Nora Darhk, New Casting & Synopsis

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 4 will be getting Darhker… The CW superhero show has upped Courtney Ford to series regular status for the upcoming season it has been announced.

Ford plays Nora Darhk, daughter of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), who spent most of last season terrorising the Legends as she tried to release the demon Mallus. Although she has a change of heart at the last minute and ends up siding with our heroes, leading to her escaping arrest by the Time Bureau after big ol’ softy Ray (played by Ford’s real-life husband, Brandon Routh) gives her the Time Stone.

As has already been announced, Keiynan Lonsdale’s Kid Flash is leaving ‘Legends’ and the Arrowverse as a full-time gig, but they will be joined by Matt Ryan’s John Constantine and Jes Macallan as Time Bureau agent Ava Sharpe, who have both been upped to series regulars. According to reports, they are looking to cast two new characters as well.

The first is a new series regular role, named in the casting call as “Ali”, but that is possibly a cover name. She is a twenty-something Asian woman searching deeply for her mission in life, so sounds perfect for Legends recruitment. She’s highly intelligent, sharp, a little aloof and easily distracted by her own imagination as well as romantic impulses. She is a fan of fantasy novels and YA literature which drives her hunger and curiosity for adventures, and tends to be optimistic despite her disappointment with the state of the world. She also has a deep love for animals as she believes each animal has a purpose to fulfil on our planet. Running through my mental index of DC superheroes, if she is a known DC character, I’m struggling to think of who she could be.

The other new face will be a recurring role, and will play Nate’s (Nick Zano) father Hank Heywood. He’s in his 60s, and despite being a rather affable fellow to most people, with a “Woody Harrelson-y charm”, he has a fractious relationship with Nate. He’s an ex-military man who now works for Department of Defense and believes in patriotism and sacrifice but isn’t too hard-nosed about it. Whilst he was always on at his son to do more with his life, he still loves Nate as much as any father could. In the comic books, there have been various iterations of Hank, and quite often they are also some form of hero named Captain or Commander Steel, so it’s possible we could have a Steel father and son team up.

CW has also released an official synopsis of the upcoming 4th Season, which reads as follows:

“After defeating the demon Mallus by cuddling him to death with a giant stuffed animal named Beebo, the Legends are ready to ease off the gas. Sara (Caity Lotz) and her team join Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) and the Time Bureau to help clean up the last few remaining anachronisms. The job seems straightforward enough until Constantine (Matt Ryan) arrives to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. History is now infected with “Fugitives” – magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends. Having been expelled throughout time by people like Constantine, these Fugitives are now returning to our world in droves and making a real mess of things. As the Time Bureau is distrustful of and ill-equipped to deal with magic, the Legends must team up with everyone’s favourite demonologist to set history back on track. Sara and Constantine are joined by compassionate inventor Ray Palmer, hotheaded ex-con Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), rebellious totem-bearer Zari (Tala Ashe), and heartbroken historian-turned-superhero Nate (Nick Zano) as they set out to save the world – and their legacy. It’s the familiar fun of the Legends time-travelling across historical events and encountering famous figures with an added shot of magical craziness!”

Legends Of Tomorrow, along with the other DC TV shows, will return to Sky One in Autumn 2018.
