US network Lifetime has renewed Greg Berlanti’s upcoming psychological thriller You for a 2nd Season before the 1st has even aired it has been announced.

The drama, which is coming to Netflix UK later this year, is based on Caroline Kepnes’ best-selling novel, and is described as a 21st-century love story about an obsessive, yet brilliant twentysomething who uses the hyper-connectivity of today’s technology to make the woman of his dreams fall in love with him.

When a brilliant bookstore manager crosses paths with an aspiring writer, his answer becomes clear: anything. Using the internet and social media as his tools, he gathers the most intimate of details and gets close to her. A charming and awkward crush quickly becomes an obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle – and person – in his way.

‘You’ comes from executive producers/writers Greg Berlanti (DC/CW shows, ‘Riverdale’) and Sera Gamble (‘The Magicians’, ‘Aquarius’, ‘Supernatural’). The show stars Penn Badgley (‘Gossip Girl), Elizabeth Lail (‘Once Upon a Time’), Luca Padovan (‘Super Wings!’), Zach Cherry (‘Our Cartoon President’) and Shay Mitchell (‘Pretty Little Liars’).

Netflix is only listing You as “coming soon” at the moment, however, it’s US debut will be September 9th on Lifetime, so we would expect to see it land 10th September 2018 on Netflix UK.
