‘House Of Cards’ actor Michael Kelly has landed a new government job, this time working with ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan‘.
Whilst the 1st Season of ‘Jack Ryan’ doesn’t even air until the end of August, Amazon has already renewed the show for a 2nd Season which sees Jack Ryan confronts the forces in power in a dangerous, declining democratic regime in South America.
The three-time Emmy and two-time SAG nominee joins Season 2 in a series regular role as Mike November, a smart, seasoned career field officer in the CIA who works with both Jack Ryan (John Krasinski – ‘A Quiet Place’, ‘The Office US’) and Jim Greer (Wendell Pierce – ‘Suits’, ‘The Wire’).
Michael Kelly has starred in a whole raft of tv and film projects over the years including ‘Person of Interest’, ‘Taboo’, ‘Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior’, ‘The Adjustment Bureau’, ‘Now You See Me’ and ‘Man of Steel’. However, he is best known for his critically acclaimed performance as Doug Stamper in Netflix series ‘House Of Cards’.
Kelly joins two other previously announced Season 2 cast members. Noomi Rapace (‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, ‘Prometheus’) will play Harriet “Harry” Baumann, a highly capable, sharply intelligent and intoxicatingly charming BND agent (Germany’s Secret Intelligence) who crosses paths with Jack Ryan in South America. John Hoogenakker (‘Colony’, ‘Empire’) joins the cast as Matice, a tough and salty American who works black ops for the CIA. At first sceptical of what appears to be a desk jockey, he quickly develops a new respect for Jack Ryan after seeing him handle himself in the field.
‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ is a reinvention with a modern sensibility of the unexpected Tom Clancy hero. It centres on Jack Ryan, an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. The series follows the titular character as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the centre of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan‘ is set to launch globally on Friday, 31st August 2018 on Prime Video.
