US network STARZ has released a new trailer for the upcoming 4th Season of ‘Outlander‘ which comes to Amazon Prime UK in November and sees Claire (Caitriona Balfe) & Jamie (Sam Heughan) starting life in the budding new land of America.
Adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books ‘Outlander’ follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
As we head into Season 4, Claire and Jamie are trying to make a home for themselves in colonial America. As Claire and Jamie build their lives together in the rough and dangerous backcountry of North Carolina, they must negotiate a tenuous loyalty to the current British ruling class, despite Claire’s knowledge of the American Revolution to come. Along the way, the Frasers cross paths with notorious pirate and smuggler Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers – ‘Downton Abbey’) in a fateful meeting that will come back to haunt the Fraser family.
Meanwhile, in the 20th century, things are complicated between Brianna Randall (Sophie Skelton), Claire and Jamie’s daughter, and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin), the historian who helped Claire search for Jamie in the past. But when Roger and Brianna search for proof that Brianna’s parents reunited in the 18th century, a shocking discovery makes both of them consider following in Claire’s footsteps.
Season 4 follows the 4th book in Diana Gabaldon’s novel series,‘Drums Of Autumn’, and the new location brings with it a number of new faces. Claire and Jamie are in colonial North Carolina under the patronage of Governor Tryon (Tim Downie – ‘Upstart Crow’, ‘Toast of London’). With the help of Jamie’s Aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy – ‘Orphan Black’, ‘Dexter’), last of his MacKenzie kin, who owns a slave-run plantation, they find mountain land and begin to build their first cabin.
Billy Boyd (‘Lord Of The Rings’ trilogy) also joins the cast as Gerald Forbes, a wealthy lawyer in Cross Creek who is friends with his prominent client, Jocasta; Simona Brown (‘Kiss Me First’) plays Gayle, best friend and college roommate of Brianna Fraser; Natalie Simpson (‘Les Misérables’) stars as Phaedre, personal maid and seamstress to Jocasta Cameron, and a trusted member of the River Run household; And newcomer Caitlin O’Ryan joins the show as Lizzie Wemyss, a Scottish woman who goes on a big adventure with Brianna.
‘Outlander‘ Season 4 will premiere Monday, 5th November 2018 on Amazon Prime.
