Netflix Releases November Premieres Date & Trailer For ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’

by Dave Elliott

Netflix has announced a November premiere date and a new trailer for Joel and Ethan Coen’s upcoming “six-part Western anthology film”, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’ is a series of tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of Joel and Ethan Coen. Each chapter tells a distinct story about the American West. For those of you wondering about the “six-part Western anthology film”, the film was originally announced as a series, but later changed to be a single film consisting of six segments kicked off by Tim Blake Nelson’s singing cowboy character, Buster Scruggs.

Other segments include James Franco as a wannabe bank robber gets his due and then some… and just a little bit more for good measure. Liam Neeson also stars in a dark, gothic segment about two weary travelling performers. Other cast includes Tom Waits, Bill Heck, Zoe Kazan and Grainger Hines.

The film launched at Venice Film Festival recently, picking up favourable reviews and the best-screenplay prize for Joel and Ethan Coen.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs‘ comes to Netflix UK and around the world on Friday, 16th November 2018.
