‘The Flash’ Star Teddy Sears Joins ‘Chicago Fire’

‘The Flash’ star, Teddy Sears, will be zooming on to the new season of Chicago Fire in a recurring role it has been announced.

‘Chicago Fire’ follows the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51 risk their lives week in and week out to save and protect the citizens of the windy city.

Sears will join the Firehouse 51 team as their new man of the cloth, Chaplain Kyle Sheffield, and is described as “warm, kind-hearted, clean-whistle, open and eager.” He has a “history” with new paramedic Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh – ‘Person of Interest’, ‘Empire’) who also joins the show this season.

As fans will know, the firehouse does already have a chaplain, so it would seem odd to be getting another one, so here is the bad news and the obligatory *SPOILER WARNING*. This is because Chaplain Orlovsky, played by ‘NYPD Blue’ vet, Gordon Clapp, has decided to retire this season. Sears will first appear in Episode 6 of Season 7.

Along with playing Hunter Zolomon, aka Zoom, in ‘The Flash’, Teddy Sears went on to star as Keith Mullins in Fox’s ’24: Legacy’ and also popped up in the Hollywoodland episode of ‘Timeless’. He previously starred as Dr Austin Langham in ‘Masters of Sex’ and appeared in ‘666 Park Avenue’.

Sky Witness has not yet set a UK premiere date for Chicago Fire‘ Season 7, but it usually returns late Autumn/early Winter. We’ll let you know when we have a date.
