Gina Gershon & Trinity Likins Join ‘Riverdale’ As Jughead’s Mum & Sister

The new season of Riverdale is nearly upon us, but they are still adding to the cast, as it was announced we will be meeting more of Jughead’s family. Gina Gershon will be playing Gladys Jones, mother to Cole Sprouse’s Jughead, whilst Trinity Likins lands the role of his sister, Jellybean “JB” Jones.

Gladys is described as a “businesswoman” who runs the salvage yard (chop shop) that doubles as a Serpent compound, and the Serpents all snap to attention when she gives them an order. A Serpent with a GED, she acts as Fagin to a crew of teenaged car parts thieves.

Jellybean “JB” Jones is said to be wise beyond her years. She lives with her biker mom in Toledo where they run scams to make ends meet. It’s very much a case of “like mother like daughter,” and Jellybean, or “JB”, as she prefers to be known, is quite the little con artist herself.

Gina Gershon has recently been starring in Amazon series ‘Red Oaks’, and also popped up as Lt. Melanie Hawkins in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’. Her film work includes ‘Face/Off’, ‘Bound’, ‘Showgirls’, and ‘Killer Joe’, which won her a Best Supporting Actress Award at the Toronto Film Festival. She recently completed a residency at the famed Café Carlyle, where she performed her musical act, Wild Women Don’t Get the Blues.

Trinity Likins is a relative newcomer to the industry, but on just her third professional audition, landed the lead role of Amelia in the Hallmark holiday movie ‘Christmas in the Air’. She also recurred as Emma in the CBC miniseries ‘Unspeakable’.

As ‘Riverdale’ returns, it’s the start of Junior year and the gang is forced to think about something new – their future. But with Hiram now in control of the Southside, Archie on trial for murder, and complicated romantic relationships forming, fans can expect a gripping start to the new season.

Based on the Archie Comics characters, ‘Riverdale’ stars KJ Apa (‘The Cul de Sac’), Lili Reinhart (‘Surviving Jack’), Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse (‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’), Marisol Nichols (’24’), Madelaine Petsch (‘The Curse of Sleeping Beauty’), Ashleigh Murray (‘Appearances: Younger’, ‘The Following’), Casey Cott (‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’), Mark Consuelos (‘Queen of the South, Pitch’), Skeet Ulrich (‘Law & Order: LA’, ‘Jericho’) with Mädchen Amick (‘Twin Peaks’), and Luke Perry (‘Beverly Hills, 90210’).

Riverdale‘ Season 3 premieres Thursday, 11th October 2018 on Netflix UK.
