Netflix will be heading back to the mountains as they renew Jason Bateman’s series ‘Ozark‘ for a 3rd Season.
‘Ozark’ follows the Byrdes – Marty (Bateman), Wendy (Laura Linney) and their teenage kids, Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), who are, for all intents and purposes, your average family with ordinary lives… Except Marty is a Chicago financial advisor who also serves as the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico. When things go awry, he must uproot his family from the skyscrapers of Chicago and relocate to the lazy lake region of the Missouri Ozarks.
Season 2, which was released in August on the streaming service, continued to follow Marty and his family as they navigate the murky waters of life within a dangerous drug cartel. With Del (Esai Morales) out, the crime syndicate sends their ruthless attorney Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) to town to shake things up just as The Byrdes are finally settling in.
‘Ozark’ received 5 Emmy nominations for its 1st season, including a Lead Actor nomination for Bateman, who also landed a Golden Globe nod for his performance. Along with starring in the series, Bateman also produces and directs a number of episodes of the drama. “I’m happy for me, but concerned for Marty – it’s official OZARK 3 is on its way,” he posted on Twitter after the renewal announcement.
You can watch seasons 1 & 2 of ‘Ozark‘ on Netflix right now.
