Sky UK Picks Up Dick Wolf’s ‘FBI’ From CBS

by Dave Elliott

Sky UK has expanded its deal with US network CBS, adding FBI, the new drama from ‘Law & Order’ and ‘Chicago’ franchise boss Dick Wolf, to its line-up.

‘FBI’ is a fast-paced drama about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect, and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe.

Born into a multigenerational law enforcement family, Special Agent Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym – ‘Rookie Blue’) commits deeply to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom ‘OA’ Zidan (Zeeko Zaki – ’24: Legacy’), a West Point graduate via Bushwick who spent two years undercover for the DEA before being cherry-picked by the FBI. Overseeing them is Special Agent in Charge, Dana Mosier (Sela Ward – ‘House’, ‘CSI: NY’), who operates under intense pressure 24/7/365 and has undeniable command authority.

The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto – ‘Six Feet Under’, ‘Law & Order’), the nerve centre of the office whose ability to easily relate to and engage with both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. Kristen Chazal (Ebonée Noel – ‘Still Star-Crossed’, ‘Wrecked’) is the team’s most valued resource, a brilliant analyst recruited straight out of university who can piece together the big picture faster than anyone. These first-class agents tenaciously investigate cases of tremendous magnitude, including terrorism, organized crime, and counterintelligence.

News of the ‘FBI’ pick up comes as Sky also renews its deal for CBS shows ‘Elementary’, ‘Madam Secretary’ and ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ for their new seasons. Additionally, they announced last month that ‘Magnum P.I.’ would be joining ‘Hawaii Five-0’, ‘NCIS: LA’  and ‘MacGyver’ on Sky One in the new year.

“For many years, we have successfully delivered Sky a slate of broad, powerful, advertiser-friendly series,” commented Stephen Tague, executive VP, client relations, EMEA, for CBS Studios International. “We think FBI is a terrific addition to the Sky schedule, building on the consistency and reliability that broadcasters have come to expect from CBS programming.”

Sky has yet to announce where and when FBI will premiere on UK tv, but we’d assume it will go onto Sky Witness in 2019. We’ll let you know when we have a confirmed air date.
