US network TBS has released their first promo trailer for the upcoming comedy limited series ‘Miracle Workers‘.
Based on Simon Rich’s book, ‘What in God’s Name’, this 7-episode limited series turns the perception of heaven on its head while also making the case that humans are worth saving. Daniel Radcliffe plays Craig, a low-level angel responsible for handling all of humanity’s prayers. Steve Buscemi plays Craig’s boss… aka God… who has pretty much checked out to focus on petty hobbies.
To prevent Earth’s destruction, Craig and fellow angel Eliza (Geraldine Viswanathan – ‘Blockers’) must answer a seemingly impossible prayer: help two humans, Laura (Sasha Compere – ‘The Dead Girls Detective Agency’) and Sam (Jon Bass – ‘Baywatch’, ‘Dog Days’), fall in love. Karan Soni (‘Deadpool’) also stars as Sanjay, God’s right-hand man.
Guest stars include Tituss Burgess, Margaret Cho, Angela Kinsey, Tim Meadows, John Reynolds, Lolly Adefope and Chris Parnell will also appear throughout the season.
The comedy comes from ‘SNL’ writer and ‘Man Seeking Woman’ creator Simon Rich. It is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer of Michaels’ Broadway Video, along with Rich, Radcliffe and Buscemi. Broadway Video produces the series in association with Turner’s Studio T.
‘Miracle Workers‘ doesn’t yet have a UK broadcaster, but someone has to pick this up… I mean, who doesn’t want to see Daniel Radcliffe as a downtrodden angel serving Steve Buscemi as God!
