First Trailer Arrives For ‘The Blacklist’ Season 6

by Dave Elliott

The Blacklist returns in 2019 to our tv screens and US network NBC has dropped a trailer giving us the first look at what’s in store for Red and Liz in Season 6.

The Blacklist’ stars James Spader as criminal mastermind Raymond “Red” Reddington and Megan Boone as Elizabeth Keen, the FBI agent who is part of the Reddington task force, a group designed to take down Red’s “Blacklist” – individuals so dangerous and devious that the US government is unaware of their very existence.

*WARNING SPOILERS FOR SEASON 5 FINALE*

Following the startling revelation that Raymond isn’t who he says he is, Elizabeth is torn between the relationship she’s developed with the man assumed to be her father and her desire to get to the bottom of years of secrets and lies. Meanwhile, Red leads Liz and the FBI to some of the most strange and dangerous criminals yet, growing his empire and eliminating rivals in the process. All throughout, Liz and Red engage in an uneasy cat-and-mouse game in which lines will be crossed and the truth will be revealed.

It would appear from the trailer, Red has been betrayed once again, and has found himself locked up in prison. That’s not supposed to happen to a man like Red, so he is looking to the FBI, and Liz in particular, to help him get back out again. Given their relationship at the moment, we’ll have to see how that goes…

The drama also stars Diego Klattenhoff as Agent Ressler, Amir Arison as FBI computer specialist Aram Mojtabai, Mozhan Marnò as Agent Navabi, Hisham Tawfiq as Red’s right-hand man Dembe, and Harry Lennix plays FBI Assistant Director Harold Cooper.

Sky One hasn’t given a premiere date for The Blacklist‘ Season 6 yet in the UK. Last year it aired in January, however, the US premiere date has moved from it’s normal Sept slot to Jan, so that may push back the UK date too. Hopefully, we’ll get it in Early 2019, but we’ll let you know when we have a solid UK air date.
