Sky Atlantic Sets April Premiere Date For The Final 7th Season Of ‘Veep’
The 7th and final season of Armando Iannucci’s multi-Emmy-winning, hilarious, comedy ‘Veep‘ will premiere this April on Sky Atlantic the broadcaster has announced.
The political satire followed fictional vice-president (and, temporarily, President) Selina Meyer as she attempts to leave her mark on the political landscape in Washington DC… Arguably, often leaving more of an unsightly stain that a mark to be proud of.
The final season will see Selina (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) take another run at the presidency. Once again, she is out to seize her rightful turn in the highest office in the land, despite the flubs and scandals that have followed her and her staff for years. Coming along for the ride are Selina’s loyal band of misfits, save Mike (Matt Walsh), who has been banished from her orbit. In the opening episode, we find Selina and the gang on the campaign trail in early primary states, wooing uber-wealthy donors while navigating threats from primary challengers and old nemeses.
The series also stars Anna Chlumsky as Amy, Tony Hale as Gary, Reid Scott as Dan, Timothy Simons as Jonah, Sufe Bradshaw as Sue, Kevin Dunn as Ben and Gary Cole as Kent.
The show has garnered huge critical acclaim, bagging 17 Emmys and numerous other accolades for people on and off camera, and the entire show itself. Having spent the last few years on various political based shows and movies, Armando Iannucci is turning his attention to space next, as he preps sci-fi comedy pilot ‘Avenue 5’ for HBO starring Hugh Laurie, Josh Gad, Rebecca Front and Lenora Crichlow.
‘Veep‘ Season 7 will premiere Wednesday, 3rd April 2019 at 10.10pm on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
