Inspired by the writings of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, this brand-new crime drama is set during the brutal Tong Wars in the ruthless world of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the late 1800s. ‘Warrior’ recreates the brutal lives of rival families who continually faced threat and danger from each other, the police, and also the overtly racist white working class people who felt threatened by their presence.

The 10-part series stars Andrew Koji (‘Fast & Furious 6’) as Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who immigrates to San Francisco from China and becomes a hatchet man for the most powerful Tong in Chinatown. Olivia Cheng (‘Marco Polo’) plays Courtesan Ah Toy who runs a Hop Wei brothel, and Dean Jagger (‘Game of Thrones’) stars as Dan Leary, an American Civil War veteran and leader of the Irish gang who has anti-Chinese sentiment.

Jason Tobin (‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’), Dianne Doan (‘Descendants’ movies), Kieran Bew (‘Da Vinci’s Demons’, ‘The Street’), Joanna Vanderham (‘The Boy with the Topknot’), Tom Weston-Jones (‘The Terror’), Hoon Lee (‘Banshee’), Langley Kirkwood (‘Black Sails’, ‘Banshee’), Christian McKay (‘Me and Orson Welles’, ‘The Theory of Everything’) and Joe Taslim (‘Fast & Furious 6’) also star.

The series comes from ‘Banshee’ creator Jonathan Tropper and Justin Lin (‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise). The duo exec produce with Shannon Lee (daughter of Bruce Lee), Brad Kane (‘Black Sails’, ‘Fringe’), and Danielle Woodrow (‘SWAT’, ‘Scorpion’).

Warrior‘ Season 1 will premiere on Sky One in June 2019 (exact date TBC) in the UK.
