Netflix has released a teaser trailer and May premiere date for upcoming neo-noir social thriller ‘WHAT/IF‘ starring Renee Zellweger.
The Netflix original anthology series explores the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things. Season 1 focuses on a mysterious woman’s lucrative, but dubious offer to a cash-strapped pair of San Francisco newlyweds. Each season will tackle a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material, and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life.
Renee Zellweger (‘Cold Mountain’, ‘Jerry Maguire’) lead the cast of Season 1 which also includes, Jane Levy (‘Castle Rock’, ‘Suburgatory’), Blake Jenner (‘American Animals’, ‘Glee’), Samantha Ware (‘Glee’), Keith Powers (‘Famous in Love’), Daniella Pineda (‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’), Juan Castano (‘Shades of Blue’), John Clarence Stewart (‘Marvel’s Luke Cage’) and Dave Annable (‘Brothers & Sisters’).
‘Revenge’ creator Mike Kelley serves as writer/showrunner and exec produces. Melissa Loy (Page Fright), Alex Gartner & Charles Roven (Atlas Entertainment), and Robert Zemeckis & Jack Rapke (Compari Entertainment) also exec produce. Phillip Noyce (‘The Quiet American’, ‘Revenge’) directs. ‘WHAT/IF’ is produced by Warner Bros. Television for Netflix.
