History UK Sets July Premiere Date For ‘Knightfall’ Season 2
Knights Templar drama ‘Knightfall‘ returns for a 2nd Season to History UK this July, and now comes with added Mark Hamill.
‘Knightfall’ goes inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages who were entrusted with protecting Christianity’s most precious relics. The story of the Knights Templar has never been fully told until now, and ‘Knightfall’ goes deep into the clandestine world of this legendary brotherhood of warrior monks to learn who these knights were, how they lived, and what they died believing.
In Season 2 we see an army of unimaginable power, led by the king of France, in preparation to take down the Knights Templar forever. Tom Cullen (‘The Five’, ‘Downton Abbey’) leads an all-star cast as he reprises his role as disgraced Landry du Lauzon who must rise up once more from disgrace. Hamill joins the cast as new character Talus, a battle-hardened Knight Templar veteran and initiate master. He is tasked with preparing the next generation of men to proudly wear the iconic red cross on their chests and become “God’s Executioners”, as the Templar must fight a seemingly impossible war against a king bent on revenge.
Joining Cullen and Hamill are Jim Carter (‘Downton Abbey’), Padraic Delaney (‘The Tudors’, ‘Legend’), Simon Merrells (‘Dominion’, ‘Spartacus’), Ed Stoppard (‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’, ‘The Musketeers’) and Olivia Ross.
‘Knightfall‘ Season 2 premieres Tuesday, 2nd July 2019 at 9pm on History UK.
