Netflix Renews Fabulous Dark Comedy ‘Dead To Me’ For Season 2

Netflix has handed a 2nd Season order to the brilliantly dark comedy Dead To Me the streaming service announced today.

Season 1 of the 10-episode half-hour series followed a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret. Sitcom veteran Christina Applegate plays Jen, a poised and put together woman with a dark sense of humour and an anger problem that she doesn’t necessarily want to deal with. Jen has been struggling to keep it together in the months since her husband was killed in a hit and run. Former ‘ER’ star (and wife of Avenger’s Hawkeye) Linda Cardellini plays Judy, the aforementioned free-spirited friend.

Creator Liz Feldman (‘2 Broke Girls’, ‘One Big Happy’) will serve as showrunner and executive producer on season two. Stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini will return to the series as Jen and Judy. Executive Producers Jessica Elbaum (‘Booksmart’, ‘Hustlers’) from Gloria Sanchez Productions, Will Ferrell (‘Succession’, ‘Drunk History’) and Adam McKay (‘Succession’, ‘Drunk History’) of Gary Sanchez Productions as well as Christie Smith (‘Nathan for You’, ‘Tosh.0’) and Christina Applegate. ‘Dead to Me’ is produced by CBS Television Studios for Netflix.

If you haven’t seen Season 1 of Dead To Me, I really urge you to go and watch it right now. Netflix hasn’t announced a release date for Season 2, but it will presumably be in 2020. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
