‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Interactive Special Adds Daniel Radcliffe
As we announced a few weeks ago, Netflix isn’t quite done with ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’, as the streaming service revealed there would be an interactive special premiering in 2020. Now, they have added a little bit of magic to the mix, as Daniel Radcliffe joins the special episode.
Created by ’30 Rock’s’ Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, the series stars Ellie Kemper (‘The LEGO Batman Movie’, ‘The Office’) as Kimmy, a 29-year-old woman who is adjusting to life in New York City after spending 15 years in a doomsday cult. The relentlessly upbeat girl is determined to not become a victim, as she reclaims her life and starts over in the Big Apple.
The interactive special will see Kimmy set off on her biggest adventure yet. – WARNING, POSSIBLE SPOILERS HERE IF YOU AREN’T UP TO DATE ON THE SHOW – Three states! Explosions! A dancing hamburger! And you, the viewer, get to decide how the story goes. Will you foil the Reverend’s evil plan and get Kimmy to her wedding on time? Or will you accidentally start a war against the robots?
So, it looks like Kimmy is going to get married in the special! Daniel’s role hasn’t been revealed, but could he be the potential new husband? Maybe he is the aforementioned dancing hamburger? Or he could be playing version of Daniel Radcliffe who helps Kimmy along the way? Who knows!
The special will see the return of Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski and Carol Kane, reprising their roles alongside Kemper. Jon Hamm will also be returning to his role as Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne, the man who originally imprisoned Kimmy and the others in the doomsday bunker.
Fey and Carlock exec produce the series with Jeff Richmond (’30 Rock’), Sam Means (‘The Daily Show’, ’30 Rock’) and David Miner (’30 Rock’, ‘Master of None’, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’). The comedy is a production of Universal Television, Little Stranger, Inc., Bevel Gears, and 3 Arts Entertainment for Netflix.
