US Paramount Network Orders Immigration Drama ‘Coyote’ Starring Michael Chiklis
US broadcaster Paramount Network has handed a 10-episode series order to ‘Coyote‘, a one-hour scripted drama series focused on the United States’ southern border, from Emmy Award-winning executive producer Michelle MacLaren (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Breaking Bad’) starring Michael Chiklis.
‘Coyote’ is the story of Ben Clemens (Chiklis), who after 32 years as a border patrol agent, is forced to work for the very people he spent his career trying to keep out of America. Now exposed to life on the other side of the wall, Ben will start to question his black and white views of the world, challenging his ideology and his loyalties.
“David Graziano, our whole creative team, and I are excited to make a show with Paramount Network and Sony that will dramatize a conversation between Mexico and America,” commented MacLaren. “I have wanted to work with Michael Chiklis for a long time and am thrilled he is playing such a complex character whose journey will expose multiple points of view on this relevant and complicated issue.”
MacLaren will serve as exec producer and direct the first episode, with David Graziano (‘American Gods’, ‘Southland’) serving as showrunner for the series. Graziano, Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert (‘Mr. Woodcock’) are attached to write and executive produce. Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg (‘The Umbrella Academy’) are also set to exec produce, alongside Rebecca Hobbs of MacLaren Entertainment.

Coyote is befitting of the strong Paramount name.”
At this point, we should point out that, yes, we do have a Paramount Network in the UK, but NO this does not mean ‘Coyote’ will automatically air on the UK version of the channel. It may, but there is a very good chance that it could end up somewhere else, if/when it gets a UK broadcaster.
‘Coyote‘ is set to premiere in the US on the Paramount Network in 2020. As this has only just been announced, there is no UK broadcaster, but we’ll let you know when we hear more.
