Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Emma D’Arcy, Susan Wokoma, & Julian Barratt Join Pegg/Frost Amazon Series ‘Truth Seekers’
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s new Amazon series ‘Truth Seekers‘ had added a host of new faces, as it is announced Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Emma D’Arcy, Susan Wokoma and Julian Barratt have joined the cast.
‘Truth Seekers’ is a horror-comedy series about a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see. However, as they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race.
Set in a mysterious world filled with dread and just-out-of-sight monsters, Truth Seekers mixes the very funny with the very scary in an exciting take on genre storytelling from the minds that gave us ‘Shaun of the Dead’, ‘Hot Fuzz’, ‘Sick Note’ and ‘Paul’.
Malcolm McDowell (‘Mozart in the Jungle’, A Clockwork Orange’) will play Richard, Samson Kayo (‘Timewasters’, ‘Famalam’) will play Elton, Emma D’Arcy (‘Wanderlust’) will play Astrid, Susan Wokoma (‘Chewing Gum’, ‘Crazyhead’, ‘Year of the Rabbit’) will play Helen, and Julian Barratt (‘The Mighty Boosh’, ‘Sally4Ever’) will play Dr. Peter Toynbee. As previously announced, Simon Pegg will star as Dave, and Nick Frost as Gus.
Additional cast for the series also includes Morgana Robinson (‘The Windsors’) as Janey, Kate Nash (‘GLOW’) as Mary and Kevin Eldon (‘Hot Fuzz’, ‘Sanditon’, ‘The Last Kingdom’) as Jack.
Amazon Studios has announced Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Emma D’Arcy, Susan Wokoma and Julian Barratt amongst others will be joining Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in new Amazon Original, Truth Seekers, from Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Miles Ketley’s UK based production company Stolen Picture. This new UK produced Amazon Original comedy horror series will launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories and begins filming this week.
Truth Seekers is co-written by Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Nat Saunders (‘Trollied’, ‘Sick Note’) and James Serafinowicz (‘Sick Note’, ‘The Peter Serafinowicz Show’) who Executive Produce alongside Miles Ketley (‘The Lady in the Van’, ‘The History Boys’) and Jim Field Smith (‘The Wrong Mans’, ‘Episodes’) who also serves as Director.
‘Truth Seekers‘ will launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories and begins filming this week.
