Amazon Prime UK has picked up the upcoming ‘Jason Bourne’ spin-off spy-thriller, ‘Treadstone‘, setting a UK premiere date of Friday, 10th January 2020.
Set amidst the CIA black ops program Operation Treadstone, the series explores the origin story and present-day actions of the infamous covert program that uses behaviour modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins. The first season follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously “awakened” to resume their deadly missions.
The series stars:
Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe’, ‘Gossip Girl’) as oil-rig worker Doug McKenna, whose life is turned upside down when he discovers long-buried truths about himself
Jeremy Irvine (‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’, ‘The Bad Education Movie’) as J. Randolph Bentley, a CIA spy who is sent out to eliminate a key target, but finds himself embroiled in an international conspiracy.
Michelle Forbes (‘The Killing’, ‘Berlin Station’) as Ellen Becker, a savvy CIA veteran trying to balance the demands of work and family while investigating a conspiracy with international implications.
Omar Metwally (‘The Affair’, ‘Mr Robot’) as Mr Edwards, a CIA agent who was ostracized by his colleagues after making a decision that left a fellow operative dead.
Tracy Ifeachor (‘Legends of Tomorrow’, ‘The Originals’) as Tara Coleman, an investigative journalist who has turned her back on her career after getting too close to a dangerous truth.
Hyo Joo Han (‘W: Two Worlds’) as SoYun, a wife and mother who must make difficult choices that compromise her quiet family life in North Korea after she starts to learn about her own secret past.
Gabrielle Scharnitzky (‘Devils’) as Petra, a no-nonsense Russian patriot who has committed her life to her country but has deep-seated knowledge of Russian tactics that come into play when she is betrayed.
And Emilia Schüle (‘Berlin Station’) as a Russian KGB agent who will stop at nothing to promote the agenda of her motherland.
‘Treadstone’ is produced by UCP and developed by and executive produced by Tim Kring, the man behind ‘Heroes’ and ‘Touch’ (so expect it to be amazing… for 1 Season…) Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner executive produce on behalf of Captivate (the ‘Bourne’ franchise); Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas executive produce on behalf of Imperative Entertainment (‘All the Money in the World’). ‘Treadstone‘ premieres Friday, 10th January 2020 on Amazon Prime UK. For our American cousins, the series airs on October 15, 2019, at 10pm on USA Network.
