‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ TV Series Premieres December On Starzplay In The UK

Hulu’s Four Weddings and a Funeral series has finally got a UK home as Amazon Prime channel Starzplay announces it will stream the entire series in December.

The show follows Maya, the young communications director for a New York senatorial campaign, who receives a wedding invitation from her college schoolmate now living in London. She leaves her professional and personal life behind, in favour of travelling to England and reconnecting with old friends and ends up in the midst of their personal crises. Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course, there are four weddings… and a funeral.

The series stars Nathalie Emmanuel (probably best known as Missandei in ‘Game Of Thrones’) as Maya, with Nikesh Patel (‘Indian Summers’) as Kash, Rebecca Rittenhouse (‘The Mindy Project’) as Ainsley, John Paul Reynolds (‘Stranger Things’, ‘Search Party’) as Duffy, Brandon Mychal Smith (‘Sweet/Vicious’) as Craig, Zoe Boyle (‘Downton Abbey’, ‘Sons of Anarchy’) as Gemma, Sophia La Porta (‘The Five’) as Zara, Harish Patel (‘Coronation Street’) as Haroon, and Guz Khan (‘Man Like Mobeen’, ‘Curfew’) as Basheer.

‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ is written and executive produced by Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton (‘The Mindy Project’), and inspired by the 1994 British romantic comedy film. Also exec producing are Richard Curtis, Jonathan Prince, Howard Klein (3 Arts), Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (Working Title).

For those of you confused as to what is Starzplay, it is an additional “add-on” channel you can get via Amazon Prime Video, Virgin Media and Apple TV. This is an additional service and costs £4.99 a month. Over the past few months, it has been building a solid list of high-quality shows, making it well worth the additional fee, which you can turn on and off month by month, so if you want to subscribe for a few months and binge through things, then turn it off, go for it!

Four Weddings and a Funeral’ Season 1 premieres Thursday, 12th December 2019 on Starzplay in the UK.
