Ian Somerhalder’s ‘V Wars’ Gets December Premiere Date On Netflix
Ian Somerhalder’s new vampire series ‘V-Wars‘ has landed a December premiere date on Netflix the streaming service has announced.
‘V-Wars’ stars ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder as Dr Luther Swann, who finds himself in a world of untold horror when a millennia-old bacteria transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes – ‘Arrow’, ‘Continuum’), into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. The disease starts to spread transforming more people and fracturing society into opposing camps. On one side the “normal” humans, on the other, a growing number of “vampires”. Swann must race against time to understand what is happening while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of his new brethren.
Also in the cast are Jacky Lai (‘Beyond’, ‘The Flash’) who plays Kaylee Vo, a struggling young online journalist who will do or say almost anything to advance her career; Peter Outerbridge (‘Orphan Black’, ‘Zoo’) portrays Calix Niklos an elegant, malicious science expert on the Homeland Security Team; Laura Vandervoort (‘Smallville’, ‘V’, ‘Bitten’) stars as Mila, with Kyle Breitkopf (‘The Whispers’) as Dez, and Kimberly-Sue Murray (‘Crimson Peak’) as Danika.
Brad Turner (‘Stargate’ franchise, ‘The Shannara Chronicles’, ’24’) directs and exec produce the show, with William Laurin and Glenn Davis (‘Aftermath’, ‘Missing’) serving as showrunners. The original ‘V-Wars’ novel was written by acclaimed New York Times best-selling author and comic book writer Jonathan Maberry.
‘V-Wars‘ Season 1 premieres Thursday, 5th December 2019 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
